FAQ

Are the seals on Horsey beach all year round?

You can see seals all year round, although there are generally more on the beach during the seal pup season, with the first pups normally born in late October/early November.

During the Seal Pup Season, (end of October to February) it is important not to disturb the seals or their pups so viewing is from the sand dunes and the designated ‘viewing platforms’ only.

How much does it cost to park?

It is a ‘Car Only’ car park . The parking charges are £4 for up to 2 hours, £6.20 for up to 4 hours and £8.50 for the day. If the overflow car park is in use there is a flat fee of £5 per day (car park closes at dusk).

Can I stay overnight?

There is strictly no overnight parking.

Is Horsey Gap overflow carpark ever ‘full’.

No there is always plenty of space.

Does Horsey Gap donate to Friends of Horsey Seals?

Yes Horsey Gap carpark makes regular donations to support Friends of Horsey Seals as well as assist them in other ways.

Is this the official Horsey Gap website?

Yes. This website is updated on a regular basis and provides up to date information, which we hope our visitors will find useful.

Is Horsey Beach open all year round? Apart from the winter seal breeding season the beach is always open for visitors. For avoidance of doubt the existing permissive path closure near the National Trust windpump doesn’t affect beach or dune access from the Horsey Gap carpark. Access from Horsey Gap car park to Horsey beach and the coastal paths is open as usual.
